MICAS competition

Last January, our school accepted the initiative offered by MICAS (Malta International Contemporary Art Space) foundation to take part in a competition to design your own face mask, to be used for COVID prevention purposes. It was divided into 3 different themes according to age group, as follows:
5 – 8 – I wish…9 -12 – My world13 -16 – The view from my room
The terms and conditions of this competition were that each participant was requested to submit a self-designed face mask. Then, the three most creative and innovative face mask designs selected from each age category will then feature on a set of masks that will be issued by MICAS itself, as well as each winner will be given a small token for creativity and originality.
The majority of our students willingly took part in this challenge and most of the face mask designs proved to be very creative and amalgamated to the theme. When the results of the competition were official, there were no winners from our school.  However, the MICAS foundation generously provided each participant with a colourfully designed certificate together with a child’s mask containing their logo.
